Problem description

Diagnosis and repair of an iPhone 12 that will not allow you to adjust the brightness of the display.

Symptoms

  • Phone shows Apple logo at full brightness
  • Once it gets to the home screen the display gets really dark
  • May be confused with "no backlight"

Solution

  • Connect the ear speaker flex to get the brightness to work.
  • if it still does not work, then the original ear speaker flex may be bad.
    • In this case, try a new ear speaker flex (but you will lose Face ID)
