Problem description

Visible red, green, and/or blue lines

Symptoms

  • Visible red, green, and/or blue lines

Solution

  • Replace C572 with a 4.7uF 160V capacitor and C586 with a 1000uF 25v 105C capacitor as per a Sony bulletin released in 2001. (See this video for more info: See this video for more info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2UpF-D7wDw
  • Adjust V-Blanking in service menu until the lines disappear (NOT RECOMMENDED. This only makes the problem invisible and doesn't actually fix the problem. Not fixing the problem can result in multiple components in your monitor being fried.)
