GIGABYTE A320M S2H

Ironically once updated the BIOS this cheap MATX motherboard can support up to the Ryzen 5000 series CPUs unlike more expensive chipsets like the B350 and X370. Because of the lack of heatsink on the motherboard's VRM, you should use only low wattage processors (65W or lower) such as the Ryzen 1600, 2600, 3600, 5600x.

Note: this board like other motherboard based on A320, only memory overclock is allowed.

Note2: this motherboard requires a graphics card to pass POST.

IOMMU grouping:[edit | edit source]

The 4 usb 3.0 on the back is on it's own IOMMU group. This means that under Linux the USB 3 controller can be detached from the host and passed to a VM.

The x16 PCIe slot is on it's own IOMMU group so a potential graphics card can be detached from the host and passed to a VM.
