About the M50[edit | edit source]

An entry to mid-range Canon Mirrorless camera with a current asking price of about $900-1100 AUD. The predecessor to the M50 Mark II, it is capable of recording in 4K 24FPS, 1080p 24/30/60FPS, 720P 60/120FPS.

The Kit lens is a Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM.

The camera does not support Clean HDMI however a similar effect can be done by clearing the screen of all UI elements and disabling Auto Focus.

Troubleshooting[edit | edit source]

Issue Troubleshooting Steps
Photos consistently have spots

or smudges no matter what lens I use

  • You probably need your sensor cleaned, this can be done by someone else or yourself with a cleaning kit and mini dust blower or by a camera repair shop
  • If dust spots or smudges only show up when viewing on a larger screen such as a Monitor or TV, theres a chance that the dust is small enough to not show on the cameras display since the camera display does not have enough pixels to show them
