Additional equipment needed for the iPhone X and up[edit | edit source]
Apple introduced its double-stacked motherboard design with the iPhone X. Since then, all of their phones have been using this double-stacked motherboard design.
Working and troubleshooting this kind of device requires additional equipment to separate, solder or test individual layers.
The motherboard heating platform is used to melt the solder holding two layers together.
The motherboard stencil holder is used to perfectly align a stencil for re-doing the layer connection balls.
The motherboard jig is used to quickly test the motherboard, without resoldering two layers together.
