Acer AL2423W

From Repair Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Acer AL2423W is a high quality (for its' time) 24inch 16:10 monitor with a P-MVA panel.

Problem Solution

Monitor will not switch on, needs warm-up before it will power on, or has garbled display

  • Check for bulging capacitors. There are two circuit boards inside. One is the PSU the other is the input card. The most common fault is bad capacitors in the PSU. Replace with high quality components. 105degree components preferably with 5000h or longer estimated lifespan at 105C. These components are highly stressed in this circuit, and average quality parts will not last.
  • I have also encountered bad capacitors on the input board, though less frequently
