iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd Gen (2018) Common Faults[edit | edit source]

Problem Solution

Boots but won't charge, 5V 0A on charger

The charging port on this model often fails due to physical or liquid damage. If you have replaced the charging port and the device still will not charge, you may have an issue with one of these three chips:

  • CD3215C00
  • Tristar 610A3C
  • Charging IC 343S00235

Check for short circuits around each of the chips. A bad capacitor in the charging circuit can also be the problem.

Not charging, 5V 0.14A on charger, missing PP3V3_S2_ACE

Can be caused by a faulty CD3215C00. First check to see if PP3V3_S2_ACE is short to ground. If not, replace CD3215C00.
